DIRECT MAIL

Not everyone has a computer but they do have a mailbox!
Direct mail is a great way to reach your current customers and prospects with newsletters, new products, and announcements. We partner with you to understand what you are planning to mail and give you options on postage and consider mail piece design too! In fact, we have a certified mail piece designer on staff ready to assist!
Are you paying $0.78 each for your mail? If so, let us show you how to get discounted postage by pre-sorting, barcoding and preparing mail according to USPS standards. There are many. many ways to save on postage and the answer is not always mailing less!
So why would I use a mail service provider when I can do it myself? Simply stated – Time VS. Money. If you have the time then doing it by hand may work for you but most of us need it done quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively. That’s where we come in. Typically, we can process your mail cheaper and faster than if you do it yourself. For example, a letter into a #10 Envelope with quantity of 1000. Postage alone is $0.78 each -$780.00. Printing envelopes, letters and labels on an office printer takes about 6-8 hours (plus new ink cartridges and label costs) followed by folding then inserting, sealing & stamping – easily another 8+ hours. PBM can print, fold, insert, seal & address in just a few hours from start to finish and postage will be about $0.40 each for Marketing (Standard) mail. In postage alone you will save $380.00+, no labor for you and its done!
For non-profit’s fund raising and bringing awareness to your organization is crucial. We can help you reach your donors with personalized letters, postcards, and self-mailers. Do you use remittance envelopes? Do you include last year’s donation amount in your letter to remind your donor how much they gave? What about segmenting your list and creating multiple versions of your letter to increase donations then try testing a group to see the results? Add a QR Code to direct traffic to a specific web location. So many possibilities!
Have you considered using Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) to reach your prospects? It’s a quick and easy way to get your message out. We have a whole page dedicated to EDDM to answer your questions.

Political Mail
Running for office? School Board, Local Elections, Committees, Township Positions and more – We have you covered! While you are running your campaign, we take care of getting your message delivered to your voters saving you time and also postage. All political and election mail is “Red Tagged” which means that you can pay standard postage rates and get first class treatment through the Postal Service. Faster delivery, lower postage, EASY!
Differences between First Class and Marketing Mail (Standard Mail) and Non-Profit
- First Class mail is delivered in 3 – 5 days. The cost per piece is the price of a First Class Forever Stamp. Pre-sorted First Class mail ranges from $0.593 to $0.644 and you must have minimum of 500 pieces. With First Class mail, the delivery is faster than other mail classes and you will get undeliverable pieces returned to you at no additional cost.
- Marketing Mail(Standard Mail) is typically delivered in 3-10 days. The cost per piece ranges from $0.372 to $0.433. For Marketing Mail you need a minimum of 200 and there is not an option to mail less for this mail class. Undeliverable pieces will not be returned unless you have added additional services such as Return Services Requested for an additional fee. Non-Profit Mail has all the same delivery times and rules as marketing Mail but lower postage costs. They range from $0.178 to $0.239. In order to qualify for Non-Profit rates, your organization must apply through the United States Postal Service. Once approved, they will issue a Non-Profit Authorization Number therefore allowing you to obtain Non-Profit postage rates.
Process for a successful direct mail campaign
- Identify your audience. Who are you trying to reach? Are these current customers or contacts or do you need to rent a list? If you need to rent a list, we have business lists and consumer lists available. Some of the selects on these lists include geographic selects as well as demographic selects such as age, income, interests, gender and so on.
- Develop your mail piece. Do you want to mail a postcard, letter, or self-mailer? What size should the piece be? There are many online design tools or you can hire a graphic designer. Great graphic design can really put your best foot forward and be the difference between a mail piece being read or going unnoticed.
- Decide how you want to mail and the frequency. Are you going to mail First Class or Marketing Mail? We always recommend First Class mail for time-sensitive material. Is this a once a year mail piece, quarterly, monthly or weekly.
- Track your success! How did you do? More website traffic, increase in donations, lots of phone calls, quote requests? You’ll know where to concentrate your efforts for the next direct mail campaign.
